Perfect Moment

The perfect moment is gone before known,
Another faded moment to be remembered.
Time slows, sound stops;
Existence becomes senseless.
As eyes close the world stays the same,
Every move is in slow motion,
Every thought is months apart.
As the months roll by
Mere seconds pass on the clock.
Distant noise becomes familiar and calming,
While sound feet away goes unheard.
Stress disappears; all lost opportunities are found again.
A glance over one shoulder confirms what is already known,
But contradicts what’s right.
Boredom to some is ambition to others.
Sometimes we need the perfect moment
To remember what used to be
And what we hope to have in the future.
Boredom lets our minds wander
And meet old friends.
Time is time;
There is no stopping the inevitable,
As quick as it starts as quick as it’s gone.
Stress recovers; impossibility is remembered.
As perfection closes
Flaws and loopholes rear once more.
But isn’t that not how the world changes?
On yesterdays mistakes,
The opportunities we lost,
And the memories we waste.
No matter how short of a memory
It will always be remembered;
The world will remember,
Two hours that changed face forever.
